Colored tights and leg-wear for all ages

Colored tights are fun and funky...and just what any cold weather wardrobe needs. No matter your age, you should have some. I think the leather trimmed leggings with the army green dress, I have on in the pic above, is an ode to the military. (keep reading for age appropriate leg-wear)


For me, leggings are very much thicker tights and not pants, and should not be worn as pants. That's just me though. I love colored tights and leg-wear.

Textured leggings in three colors.

Colored tights have been in my heart since I was a kid. My sister and I both wore pink or blue or purple tights at some point as little girls.

Does being grown mean I have to give them up? Heck no! Just wear them differently. Whether tights or leggings, I have a range of colored leg wear in my fashion arsenal. They cover a rainbow of colors from tan to bright hot pink. Many are textured like the leather trimmed ones above.

Toddlers and little ones can get away with wearing a myriad of colored tights. Leg-wear on kids can be the star of the show.

Teens can express themselves with outrageously funky tights in outlandish designs. Isn't that the time where you explore your style and try different things anyway?



Twenty-somethings are starting to come into their own and developing their own style perspectives, so they may start jazzing up outlandish prints and focus more on how their leg-wear will fit with the rest of their ensembles.









Thirty year olds tend to be in a fashion groove. They have explored and refined and realize they are going to wear what they want to wear. So yes! You should wear it your way!










 40s

As you mature, however, your clothing choices probably should as well...to some extent. But you should never give up your funky side. Forties are all about sophistication. You can remain sophisticated with some edge in the leggings from model/designer SaAM below. Like the lady at "Over Fifty Feeling Forty" blog, you can wear your tights well into your forties, fifties, and beyond, as an accent piece.
