Simone and I both have upcoming birthdays (Simone's is 1/6, mine is 1/14), so we laughed about our Capricorn traits that annoy everyone. 

For example, Simone said the one gift she'd like to receive is a surprise gift. Something well thought out with her in mind and enough info so that she'll know what to wear. I said it's hard to surprise a Capricorn because we will try to take over and plan it ourselves, or, as Simone chimed in, ask so many questions that we figure it out.

Simone is a blogger and gift consultant. Gift giving is most definitely a talent that not everyone has and many struggle with. Simone has suggestions for great giving:

• Consider the personality of the recipient.
• Allocate enough time to find the perfect gift.
• Remember the packaging is almost as important as what's inside. Simone suggest tailoring packaging to the recipient as well. (e.g., kids gifts wrapped in comics)
• Value gifts based on the sentimental meaning to the recipient, not just the price tag.
• Be a gracious recipient.
• Regift if it does not suit you, but do it in good taste and follow the same rules as if you are buying a gift.

What is the Flip Your Gift Party? The Flip Your Gift event is a gift swap party, where attendees can exchange a similarly priced gift ($10 or more) that better fits their needs, wants, style and/or decor. These can be any item from this holiday season from picture frames, pillows to coffee table books and more. In addition to the fab gift swap, attendees can shop local pop up shops including Cottage Chic, J.T. Posh & The Boulevard at Southend. Boutiques will bring some of their top selling items including but not limited to clothes, candles, jewelry, scarves, shoes, journals and more! All items will be available for purchase at the event.

* Complimentary Mimosas, Wine & Small Bites
* Mingling/networking with Charlotte’s fab gift givers
* Eating delicious desserts by Hey Sugar Shop
* Purchase limited Edition Gift Bags with goodies from Savory Spice Shop, Flywheel Sports, Mellow Mushroom, The Boulevard at Southend and more!

BRING:
Up to 5 new gifts that you received this holiday season that you’d like to swap, cash/credit for shopping local pop up shops and purchasing limited edition gift bags, a smile to meet and greet with other fab gift givers

About the Gift Swap

• Each gift should be chic, new and have a minimum value of $10.
• Up to 5 new gifts that you received this holiday season that you’d like to swap
• Potential swap gifts may include (but are not limited to) candles, stationary, vases, picture frames, books and more.
• No gift to swap? No problem! You can simply come to shop, sip and snack with other fab attendees.  You can also purchase $10 swap tickets at the event.

Schedule of the day:

11am: Attendees arrive, register their gifts, shop Cottage Chic , J.T. Posh and The Blvd at Southend

12pm-12:30pm: Gift Exchange (gifts must be registered by 11:30am)

12:30pm-1pm: Mingle/network and shop Cottage Chic,  J.T. Posh and The Blvd at Southend

1pm Event concludes

Throughout the event guests will eat, drink, chat and shop!

TICKETS:

• Entrance fee: This event is FREE. Simply come with a gift to swap and get ready to eat, drink, chat and shop with fellow fab gift givers.
• No gift? No problem! Just come to shop and sip and snack or you can purchase swap tickets.
• Swap tickets: If you do not have a gift to bring, you can purchase tickets for the swap. If you do bring a gift, you can also purchase additional tickets.  Each ticket costs $10.

• Limited Edition HoneeBee Gift Bags: The gift bags will include some of HoneeBee’s favorite things including items from Savory Spice Shop, The Boulevard at Southend, Mellow Mushroom, Flywheel and more.
